Our process
A Smooth and Reliable Process Keeps Tenants and Owners Happy
Most tree work is pretty straightforward. You’re concerned about a tree. I come look. We figure out what it needs. Then, we do the work. Here’s what that actually looks like:
You Contact Us
Send the tenant report or owner request. We’ll schedule a site visit within a few days.
We Assess and Send Your Bid
We look at the tree, talk to the tenant if needed, and email you a detailed estimate. Usually within 48 hours.
You Get Approval
Forward our bid to the owner. Our pricing is fair and clear, so approvals typically come quick.
We Coordinate with the Tenant
We call the tenant directly to schedule. We confirm timing, explain what we’ll be doing, and answer their questions.
We Do the Work
Skilled removal or pruning. Hand tools for fine work. Safe rigging. Everything done right.
We Clean Up Completely
Debris hauled, branches chipped on request, yard raked. We’re a little OCD about this part.
Job Done, Everyone’s Happy
We update you when it’s complete. Tenant’s satisfied. Owner’s satisfied. Your phone stays quiet.

About Owens Ryon
I’ve been working with trees for over 15 years, and for the last several years, I’ve built strong relationships with property management companies throughout Southern Oregon.
I know property managers need reliable people who don’t create more work. That’s why I prioritize clear communication, fast bids, and zero-mess cleanup. I coordinate directly with tenants so you don’t have to, and I give owners honest assessments, even when that means recommending they do nothing.
Phoenix Sun is named after my son, Phoenix. It’s rooted in the things that matter to me: honesty, integrity, and respect for trees and people.
My goal is to leave every tree, and every property, better than I found it.

A Tricky Cottonwood In Ashland
A homeowner in Ashland had a cottonwood in their back yard that was half dead. It was a small lot. They were concerned about it coming down on their home or their neighbors property. And they definitely didn’t want it falling on the railroad tracks behind the tree. Felling the tree from the ground was

I got a call from a family up Thompson Creek Rd in the Applegate on a Sunday morning. A large black oak had fallen during a storm. They were out of town but had a house sitter taking care of their animals. The oak just about took out their car as well as the mother-in-law

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you handle tenant coordination?
We call the tenant directly to schedule. We let them know when we’re coming, what we’ll be doing, and how long it’ll take. Then we show up on time and follow up when we’re done. You stay in the loop through email updates, but you don’t have to play phone tag between us and the tenant.
How fast can I get a bid?
Usually within 48-72 hours. We know you’re juggling multiple properties and owners are waiting. We prioritize emergency requests because we understand timing matters. After we visit the site, we’ll email you a detailed estimate with a breakdown of what needs doing and why.
Do I need owner approval before you start work?
Yes. We provide a clear, itemized bid that you can forward to the owner. Our pricing is fair and honest, so approvals typically come through without much back-and-forth. Once the owner gives you the green light, we move forward.
What if the tree doesn’t actually need work?
We’ll tell you. If an owner asks us to “look at everything” and the trees are fine, we say so. We’d rather keep the long-term relationship than push unnecessary work. The assessment is always free, so there’s no cost even if we recommend doing nothing.
What about cleanup? Tenants always complain about that.
We’re a little OCD about cleanup. Debris gets hauled away, branches get chipped on request, and the yard gets raked. We leave it cleaner than we found it. That’s why property managers tell us they’ve never gotten a single complaint after we leave.
Can you handle multiple properties for us?
Absolutely. Many of our property manager clients send us to different properties throughout the year. We keep track of each location and prioritize your requests. Whether it’s one tree or ten properties, we handle it with the same care and integrity.
Do you offer emergency tree services?
Yes. If a storm drops a branch on a roof or a tree comes down after heavy wind, we respond as quickly as possible. Call us and we’ll get there to assess the damage and make the site safe. We handle both planned removals and emergency calls.
What areas do you serve?
We’re based in Grants Pass, Oregon and serve the surrounding areas of Josephine and Jackson Counties. We have clients in Grants Pass, Medford, Ashland, Jacksonville, Applegate, Williams and beyond. If you’re not sure you’re in our range, just reach out; f we can’t help, we’ll try to refer you to someone who can.
How soon can you come take a look?
Usually within a few days. When you reach out, we’ll schedule a site visit quickly and get you a bid fast. We know tenants are waiting and owners want answers, so we don’t leave you hanging for weeks.
